Recalla runs entirely on your device. There is no account, no cloud, and no server holding your data. We don't collect, sell, or even see your contacts or memories. The only time anything is sent off your phone is if you choose to use Recalla AI — and then only the note text you ask it to process.
Everything you put into Recalla — people, memories, reminders, your own card — is saved in a private database on your device only. It is never uploaded to us or anyone else.
Because it lives on your device, deleting the app removes your data. Use your phone's backup if you want to keep a copy.
We want to be precise here, because most apps aren't. Recalla has no analytics SDK, no advertising, no tracking, and no telemetry.
When you share your card, its details are encoded directly into the link — there is no server storing it. Anyone with the link can read what you put on the card, so share it the same way you'd hand someone a business card.
Opening someone else's card link shows it in your browser. Nothing is uploaded; the card data travels only inside the link itself.
Recalla AI is an optional paid feature. When — and only when — you use it, the text of the note you're processing is sent to Google's Gemini API to transcribe a voice note or generate a brief.
Google processes that text under its own terms and does not use it to train its models for API requests. If you never turn on Recalla AI, nothing ever leaves your device. See Google's API terms for details on their handling.
Recalla asks only for what a feature needs, when you use it:
You can decline any of these and still use the rest of the app.
Recalla Pro and Recalla AI are handled by Google Play billing. We never see your card number or payment details — Google processes the transaction and tells the app only whether your purchase is active.
Recalla is not directed at children under 13, and because we collect no personal information, we hold no data about anyone — including children.
If we change how Recalla handles data, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. Because the app is on-device first, any meaningful change would arrive with an app update you choose to install.
